How to fix communication issue between PC and P-touch Brother Printer while printing?

For Windows 2000 or XP

  1. Click on the ‘Startup’ menu from the taskbar.
  2. Look for ‘Printers & Faxes’ and click on it.
  3. Right-click on the printer icon to open the menu and select the ‘Properties’ option.
  4. The P-touch Label Brother Printer ‘properties’ window will open.
  5. Select the ‘Ports’ tab and uncheck the ‘Enable bidirectional support’ option.
  6. Click on the ‘Ok’ button.

For Windows Vista

  1. Select the ‘Windows’ icon on the bottom left corner.
  2. Click on the option ‘Control Panel’.
  3. Depending on the Windows Vista view configuration, choose according to that-
  • Vista – Under the ‘Hardware and Sound’ category, click on the option ‘Printer’ link.
  • Vista Classic- Double-click on the ‘Printers’ icon.
  1.  To select the option ‘Properties’, right-click on the P-touch Label Brother Printer icon to open the menu.
  2. Select the ‘Ports’ tab
  3. Uncheck the option ‘Enable bidirectional support’
  4. Click on the ‘Ok’ option.

For Windows 7

  1. Click on the ‘Windows’ icon on the bottom left corner.
  2. Select the option ‘Devices and Printers’.
  3. Click on the P-touch Brother Printer option ‘Properties’ before that right click on the icon for Brother Printer to open the menu.
  4. The P-touch Brother Printer ‘properties’ window opens.
  5. Select the ‘Ports’ tab and uncheck the ‘Enable bidirectional support’ option.
  6. Click on the ‘Ok’ button.

For Windows 8

  1. Move the mouse or cursor to the upper or lower right corner of the desktop screen.
  2. On the menu bar, select the option ‘Settings’ followed by ‘Control Panel’
  3. Under the option ‘Hardware and Sound’, click on the option ‘View Devices and Printers’
  4. Right-click on the P-touch Brother Printer icon to open the menu
  5. Select the ‘Printer Properties’ option.
  6. The P-touch Brother Printer label properties window opens.
  7. Select the ‘Ports’ tab and uncheck the ‘Enable bidirectional support’ option.
  8. Click on the option ‘Ok’.

Please note-If the issue still remains then you need to download the cleanup utility to remove existing driver. Install the latest driver available by clicking on the correct link to find out the utility for the system. Download it to PC and install the utility to remove the existing driver.
